My Online Crush Turns Out to Be My Roommate
He kept pushing to meet up.
“You know, I just want things to be more stable before we meet.”
He wouldn’t give up.
“We’ve been together for over a year. How much more stable do you need? Or are you embarrassed by me?”
He sent a photo.
Damn..... Jin Hao is such a show-off in private.
He sent me a picture of his abs, trying to seduce me.
I quickly replied with a drooling emoji.
I started hinting.
“What if I’m not as great as you think?”
“No way.... My baby is the best in the world.”
What a hopeless romantic.
Online dating is risky be careful who you fall for.
“I mean, what if .....just what if you meet me and realize I’m the kind of person you hate?”
He started typing.
And kept typing....
Is it that hard to answer?
“No way! If I met you, I’d give you the biggest hug and kiss.”
Hopeless romantic to the core.
For now, my secret is safe.
I looked at Jin Hao across the room.
That fool was grinning at his phone like an idiot.
During this time, I’d been trying to brainwash Jin Hao.
Be kind to others, don’t make things hard for your roommates for no reason.
Try to be more approachable, stop giving everyone the cold shoulder.
Show some generosity, don’t always pick on your roommates.
I’d said it so much, Jin Hao was starting to get annoyed with me even complaining about it.
“Babe....Why are you more worried about my roommate than about me?”
Of course I am, my life depends on it.
Jin Hao sat across from me, looking dejected.
I couldn’t help but rap my knuckles on the desk.
“Our group project is due the day after tomorrow. Can you please focus?”
After all my nagging, he’d at least stopped being so hostile. He wasn’t exactly warm, but at least he wasn’t picking fights anymore.
Then, out of nowhere, he asked me for relationship advice.
“How do you keep your partner from losing interest?”
I nearly jumped out of my seat.
I forced myself to ask, “Why do you say that?”
“I feel like he’s not as into me as he used to be.”
Normally, I’d never tell someone to break up. But then again if they broke up, maybe my life would finally get easier.
“Just break up! There’s plenty of fish in the sea.”
Jin Hao narrowed his eyes, shooting me a dangerous look.
“Do your group project. Stop being so nosy.”
What the hell? He was the one who asked.
Just then, my phone buzzed.
“Babe...”
“My roommate is seriously a bad person.”
“He told me to break up with you.”
I shot Jin Hao a glare.
Why did he have to tell his online lover everything?
Still, I stuck to my plan of emotional distancing.
“Tired. Let’s talk later.”
Jin Hao put down his phone, clearly upset.
To avoid setting him off, I didn’t say anything else.
He got up and stormed out.
“Hey.... Where are you going? The project isn’t done yet.”
Great. Now I’d have to finish all this work myself.
That night, I went out for late-night snacks with Meng Yu.
Meng Yu patted my shoulder. “Ye Wenxu, isn’t that Jin Hao over there?”
I looked where he pointed.
Jin Hao was slumped over a bar table, surrounded by empty beer bottles.
“He drank so much, he’s not going to drink himself to death, is he?”
Just a few appetizers, and he’s already downed this much?
Even after a year of online dating, I couldn’t just leave him like this.
I walked over and tapped his shoulder.
“Jin Hao.”
He suddenly wrapped his arms around my waist, mumbling, “Babe, please don’t leave me.”
I tried to pull away, but he just buried his head against my side.
I shot Meng Yu a desperate look.
Instead, Meng Yu whipped out his phone and started recording.
“Help me out here, Stop filming.”
I patted Jin Hao’s face. “I’m not your babe”
“No...You are” He held me even tighter.
Did I slip up somewhere?
Meng Yu pulled him off me. “Look again do you know who I am?”
I bent down to look Jin Hao in the eye.
His cheeks were flushed, his eyes unfocused.
Long lashes fluttered as he blinked slowly.
His gaze reflected the bar’s lights and me.
His breath was warm on my face, tickling my skin.
His lips, cool and tinged with alcohol, brushed mine.
The moment his lips touched mine, my eyes widened.
My first kiss!!!
Meng Yu, still recording, said, “I got the whole thing. I can testify he made the first move.”
I was completely stunned.
It took everything Meng Yu and I had to drag Jin Hao back to the dorm.
Who would’ve thought?.
The notorious campus kingpin of Huaxing University
Drunk, acting like a lovesick fool.
But his drunken antics were something else.
He clung to me the whole way, refusing to let go, mumbling “babe” over and over.
On the way back, my dignity was in shambles.
When I tried to wipe his face with a towel, he even stole a kiss.
Lin Chen, our other roommate, walked in and froze at the scene.
Meng Yu patted his shoulder, grinning as he shared the video.
The dorm was dead silent.
